Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't often share photoblogs I come across but this one certainly impressed me SO much! It also makes we wonder - how do you do that, making the image move like that? And, do you like it or not?

I'm rather fond of it - I think it works well here! I've seen the silly moving Gifs etc before but somehow find it very well executed in photography here... !

CS5 actually makes it much easier to do again with the new animation tool

    It's just layers essentially

Tal!!! What is this language you speak!

So, do I need a photograph and/or movie stills or what!?

    :Layers: tssssss

Layers are literally what they sound like. When you open an image in Photoshop you can have multiple images/layers above/below the original image. By manipulating these you can achieve powerful things.

Multiple photographs in sequence (I.E. Sport shooting mode) or movie stills

You create a new layer for each frame and layer-cut the part you need, leaving the original (stationary) picture static at all times...

Hard to explain, but I'll show you sometime

It's handy enough in photoshop and the help will tell you all you need to know.
There's some way of animating jpegs now too, something to do with a modified header script or something.

If you're around the Briggan at the weekend I'll give you a quick spin with layers if you want.

And we've hit a sad sad day here on the photography forum when Daire Quinlan has been reduced to posting an animated gif.

you can also make them online by uploading sequence of images to animate, but options will be more limited

Ah, animated gifs (pronounced with a J-sound ...). Those were the days. Here's the first one we did back in the early 90's. It was very clever then -

A few years ago used Easy Gif Animator. Now, I'd just use PS - if I had a need.
