Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Just wondering if there's any alternatives to the read receipts in Outlook?

Can anything be done machine\server side to ensure that mails are being read without being over the persons shoulder?

    Thanks a mil.

There shouldn't be anything that does not require the recipient's express permission.

I think you can take your tin foil hat off now. And grab the right end of the stick.

I don't want to interfere with users' privacy\rights. But lo and behold if you've company mail than it's the companies' right to go through it! (As long as they have grounds to). But that's not what I'm looking for at all!

So, let me spell out my request further (so I'm not misinterpreted like the last poster).

All I require is a notification that if x sends a mail to y, then x will definitely know that it's been read. Other than a read receipt.........Or maybe a read receipt with just the one Confirm option?

    Cheers.

I don't have a tin foil hat. If you are looking for something which will tell you whether an internal email has been 'read' (opened for reading) then it would need to be a feature of your internal mail distribution system.

If you are talking about mail received from outside then I would reiterate it would have to be only with the express permission of the recipient. Anything less would be a spammers dream.

You could send HTML mail that references a small image on a web server that you have access to logs. The image need not be displayed. The image URL can include a unique code to link it to the specific email.

    They're called web bugs.
If the sender is in the recipients contact list they'll often be allowed, but blocked otherwise.
