Got an email from Burger King inviting me to "Have a coffee on us"

That's nice, I thought - a free coffee from Burger King.

    Opened the email:

So it costs a Euro to have a coffee "on them".

Nice. (Feel free to use the voucher )

I'd register a complaint with the ASAI - "on us" implies for free, which this clearly isn't.

Then again, there is a rather large €1 sign in the middle...

"have a coffee on us" clearly implies either "for free" or literally "while on top of us"
neither involve 1 euro, however large the sign is

WEll it doesnt say "have a coffee on us!" then has hte €1 charge listed in tiny unreadable writing, its written right there in the same sentence.

Have a coffe for a quid would have been a better marketing option, although isnt that what McDonalds charge for coffee anyway?

"on us" implies slurping it from their hot, naked body. Which this clearly isn't. :( I'd definitely make a complaint.

From the writing ' €1 price applies to regular coffee only'

    Pic is a cappuccino.

Wow, "on us" implying that it's free, but actually costing €1, and only for regular coffee despite showing a more expensive drink in the picture. That's all over the place!

As I said - I got an email inviting me to have a coffee on them - as below

No mention of a euro there. That's what made me open it - thinking I was getting a free coffee. They aren't muppets. They knew what they were doing - encourage the recipient to open the email.

    Complaint sent.

Whatever marketing person came up with this should be fired. A coffee for a euro is not a bad offer but by first giving the impression it's free they ruin it and make it seem like a scam.

Just got a revised coupon. Coffee is now free! :)

Well that's not good at all. We had a good outrage thread going here!

    Awh, I love a good moan :)

But good to see, and the image posted over on bargain alerts contains the t&c stating that it includes cappuccino, which it did not when it was €1.
