what would you consider as the best kind of a bulling heifer?
every breed i seem to look at has some downside.
    limousin-wild
    charolais- no milk
    belgian blue-hard calved
    can anyone help me here?
also what bull should i use on them.
i was looking at fl22. What do you think?
Any advice welcome and sorry for dragging on.:o

I am going down the route of crossing Simmentals with Limousins and vice versa. Early days yet and I only have heifers coming through as of now. Simmentals, I hope will add that bit of milk and tend to quieten the Limousins that bit more. I dont breed from any cows that are either wild or lacking in milk either.
It's hard to know really. Costs a lot to bring them to calving too. If you could get your hands on Lim x British Friesian types, probably the cheapest option.....

Would agree about the shorthorns too, very quiet and loads of milk.

i always liked the look of a shorthorn crossed by a hereford. would these make good cows? i always found that a nice belgian blue crossed by a british friesian threw smashing calves.

If you could get a limo out of a montbeliard you would have a fine cow.
maybe even a blue out of a monty
