Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It does add up, these guys (unfortunately) play in a sport that is watched by a tiny audience and generates very little money (from a worldwide perspective) Rooney plays in a multi billion pound industry an gets paid according to the revenue and interest generated worldwide, sad but true.

Not to derail the thread or anything, but United are in debt to the tune of almost 600mn and yet pay Rooney who is neither professional nor a good role model an over inflated an unsustainable wage. Meanwhile these lads who provide entertainment week in week out for nothing more than the love of the game get nothing at all.

It doesn't have to add up for it to make no sense.

They should hold back Charles Bird's Antarctic program until they have RTÉ HD up and running.

How is playing the sport holding any of them back getting a Job, any more so than any person in the country. Why are GAA players suddenly "victims"?

Nobody said they were "victims",for gods sake there the same as me and you, but they play a sport that any Irish man should be proud to play, and they are talented at it so fairplay to them,if all the DJ Carey's and John Mullanes left Ireland, hurling would be boring to watch.

We don't care. It's nothing to do with us. There are people up and down the country with issues about how they're being treated money-wise.

People get screwed. It's not like they thought they were going to be paid when going into the GAA.

Ah at last - Lar Corbett was doing loads of talking cause he wanted to push his new pub, fair enough but a standard man on the dole wouldnot hav got the businessman he mentioned to back him. IE being a gaa player has helped him.
I do wish him the best with new venture (or anyone that trys a new venture) - but would have done more so if he had not tried to suggest earlier that gaa players should get extra breaks
