This is not just about unemployment (which would be dumb enough as a topic), it's specifically about promoting job opportunities for GAA players.

It's hard to believe they actually think this is a valid thing to do on a public broadcast. It's just an advertisement for GAA players getting employment, like they are "special" and deserve to be treated better than ordinary people because they're good at their game.

I collect many hundreds of thousands a year in wages from a state owned company in a state which is bankrupt but how does it feel to be on the dole...

jes:ps these GAA guys kill me... there are loads of amatur sports in Ireland but they don't go on as if they are professionals that do it for the "Love of the game". Don't winge just play, or in fact just don't play.....

This exact same conversation was on the John Murray show yesterday morning. RTE= Recycled Terminally-boring Excrement.

Well please someone make a remark about DLBs wages!

I thought he only had the upstairs bar in Coppingers, not an actual bar? And it's only open a couple of days a week for now, he can probably claim the days he's not working.

It's not his pub. He's just the name over the door. He's basically an employee of the real owner.

What's going on here? Is this a GPA campaign to get pay for players?

Like c'mon either play GAA for nothing (what the players signed up for), or don't play, or play another sport.

They are three sounds lads, three good athletes and are living off 200 euro a week when a thug like Rooney is on 250k a week. It doesn't add up.

Rooney is talented in a worldwide sport that generates billions. Might be sound lads but why can't the ordinary man r woman go on the LLS and whore themselves for a job.
