Limerick Punk Rockers, V.A.G. come to Crawdaddy on 23rd April

V.A.G. aka Very Angry Girls got together in 2009 as a three piece. The girls gigged around for a little while before meeting their 4th member and lead guitarist in early 2010. The four girls quickly released a demo ep, and started gigging around at some of the top venues around the country, such as Dolans Warehouse Limerick, Twisted Pepper Dublin, Pavilion, An Brog, Crushcin Lan, and Fred Zeppelins in Cork, Stables Mullingar, Roisin Dubh Galway and many more. The demo received airplay on on radio online around the world as well as a host of Irish stations, including 2fm. The girls played a couple of music festivals last summer including Milk, where they drew the biggest crowd that the second bands stage got all day.

This is the first studio EP. Fans funded the entire thing online using a website called chipin.com to raise the $1000. The single 'Red Balloon' from the EP can be heard on last night's (07/04/11) Dan Hegarty show on 2fm. It was played about 50 mins into the set. Here is a snippet.

The girls have been in some national magazines, including some high praise from Hot Press magazine.

The gig is only €6 in for students! Two support bands are being announced tomorrow. Kicks off at 8pm and that gets you in to Podium, 3 rooms of music at POD afterwards too!
