Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Labgear is a good make but the amp does not seem to have remote carry through, I mention that in case its a feature you might need in the future.

What is the maximum length on the run and what type of cable are you using?

    I think it does:

    Thanks for the replies guys,

The majority of the cables are quality double screened cable as supplied by a local electronics shop in Waterford, I can't remember the code. one or two of the runs are what was installed when the house was built 19 years ago (buried in conduit etc) and there is very little I can do about them, a couple of the runs are 40 ft plus, one of which serves our most used TV, 42 inch LG, the picture on which is a slight bit grainy.

    Brendan.

Do you mean good quality or bad quality? (If it's unmarked it's unlikely to be good.)

Average life of unprotected* cable outdoors is 5 years.

    See http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=904492

    * Should be painted or run inside conduit to protect it from the effects of sunlight, rain and wind.

The advice to run inside conduit is solid. However, coax should last far longer than 5 years. That thread you reference is a train wreck. With the honourable exception of Martin Pickering, I wouldn't want any of the posters next or near my house.
