Bulbs didn't flower this year

Some crocus, tulip and anemone bulbs sprouted foliage but no flowers this year.

Does this mean the bulbs are spent and should be discarded or is it worth lifting them and replanting in September? If so when should they be lifted?

Maybe they weren't fed last year? Or maybe you cut the foliage away after the flowers died? It is important to keep the foliage as this is the time of the cycle where the bulbs get nourished for next year. And do the feeding 'after' the flowers are gone.
If you feed them now and let the foliage die down naturally until they are yellowed and lying on the ground, the bulbs should be better next year.

Agree with Redser, the foliage was probably cut too soon after flowering previous year. Foliage must be allowed to die back naturally as this is the time the bulb requires to restore energy for following season.

Sprinkle area with some liquid feed and the bulbs should resume flowering next year.

Agreed with previous posters, and would like to add to make sure and plant bulbs when you purchase them and as directed by the packet instructions ...time of year ...depth etc...
Bulb flower energy can be used up if at wrong depth and/or if started sprouting within packet.

Thanks for the replies. They're in containers and I wanted to lift them and replant in September. Should I still liquid feed them now?
