Right so - getting a bit ahead of myself here as I dont have any proper measurements yet..Postie hasn't delivered my Polar..But I still want to keep track of my efforts to shift my cuddly bits.

Wed 06/04 - 13k Slow Speed, getting to know the new bike.
Sat 09/04 - 13k Flat out, Comfortable with the bike.
Sun 10/04 - 36k Mixed Speeds, testing the legs.

    Notes:
Noticed significant hesitation in gear changes, cables may need adjusting
Bum is VERY sore, saddle may need adjusting
Distance from Saddle to handlebar seems ever so slightly short. May need to look at seatpost with "kick back" or whatever it's called - alternatively may need to look at a different stem.

Sat 16th - approx 99km (mapped out on google maps after event not 100% on route but hey ho)
    wed 20th - Run 15km Cycle 10km & Various Weights (All Gym)
    mon 25th - 40km
    tue 26th - Run 5,5km Uphill settings 2.5 / 5 / 10 and 15 & Various Weights

Gone down 4 pounds already. Not making too much of an effort with the diet at the mo - just making sure not to over do it with the greasy stuff.
I do really fancy a double whopper cheese tho..

27th - Cycled to the Gym 37km & did some weights.

Foolishly took the long route over Dunleer - cause I'd done it before and thought it seemed quick the last time.

Looking at the route recording afterwards I realise that going over collon would have been MUCH quicker - and less sore on my jacksie.

Due to a mixup on the Forme website the seatpost I ordered was the wrong size, so I'm still sitting slightly akwardly.

3cm Longer stem combined with the setback seatpost should go someways towards sitting correctly.

Bought some carbon spacers - just to porn up the front of the bike a bit. (6pounds I think they were including shipping). Migtht move the drops down a wee bit when fitting them .

Changing the saddle set-back beyond where it should be could bring on knee complications in the long term.

General rule for set-back is crank horizontal and drop a plum line from the front of your knee and it should be directly in line with your pedal axle.

General rule for stem length is put hands on drops and when you pedal your knees should just about not touch your elbows.

Had a couple of days rest before my 1st ever running event.

    Sun 01-05-2011 Boyne Valley 10k
Didn't see the timer -but I think I came in just around 60mins.

    Update:

Managed to get in at 57.38 which landed me in 553th place.. Considering I haven't even been able to do a sub 60 10k run on the treadmill I'm dead chuffed with the result.
Will defo get another couple of races in this summer..
Feeling a little bit stiff today - so went to the gym and did a quick 5k run on the mill and some weights..

    Mon 02-05-2011 5k & Weights

Have a real pisser of a week ahead of me from a work perspective - but hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in a cycle, run or a visit to the gym.
It's going to be hell tho.
