New Portlaoise shopping centre, when will it open?

Hi all, Im in Portlaoise most weekends and I see the new Portlaoise shopping centre is flying along, I even heard the guys working away on site on Sunday gone, wonder how much longer we will wait for the opening of the much improved centre? seemly its suppose to open during 2011 but would anyone know a more accurate date,…

I did my nose around the new Tesco yesterday... what a let down, what an anticlimax... oh Yawn... sure it's no bigger than Tullamore as far as I can see, I didn't measure it but at least Tullamore gets some natural daylight, I didn't see a window...

Clothes section big let down!

It won't be long before it's like the old store with boxes and delivery trollies in the way in the aisles and half eaten food left here and there and sticky floors :rolleyes:

I saw 2 ladies with clipper boards in red t-shirts at the entrance that looked like they were supposed to be approaching customers but they never went near anyone, looked too grumpy too. No offers, no sparkle, no buzz. Back to Superquinn!

Actually, had no choice but to be in it again this evening... But have to admit that they have a good greeting cards selection, books and magazines

I see they sell laptops now, not sure if they are Tesco ones or proper brands lol

The layout of the shop is very much like the Tullamore one. It's better than the one we had before anyway.

Deals is a UK style pound shop, only here everything is 1 euro 49 cent.

Carphone were advertising jobs back in August. They seem to have all staff for now.. I can let you know if they start looking for more.
