Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Or perhaps he did something in Denmark that he wants to forget.
What happens on tour, stays on tour.

Yes, remember the time he broke his arm whilst on holidays.

I think he said it happened while 'changing a lightbulb'....

    Yep.

I didn't know about it and turned on the radio just over an hour ago to catch the Marian show I missed morning. I've been listening to live heavy rainfall since.

Took me about 20 minutes to cop that it wasn't Marian after all. :o

In a sly attempt to see if RTÉ Radio are pulling the wool over our ears, I had a look out the back door to see if it is indeed raining.

It's pissing it down out there so yep, tis a live broadcast alrite !

I don't see where you're getting that from.

I think it's pretty inspirational to have someone who has successfully lost weight on talking honestly about it, instead of someone coming on saying they "are happy the way they are" but are actually bloody miserable.

    Christ it's menopause woman again.

Will someone please tell me who the hell she is and what has she done to get so much TV and airtime?

What is this rambling interview with this solicitor and his wife about exactly?

Derek Mooney show seems to be all over the place. Derek no matter what he says comes across as very patronising even with the most banal questions "Why don't you become a politician?"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 941 ✭✭✭yomtea98

Good to hear Derek Mooney talk about something he knows alot about, soccer.

    what a debacle

Next time, when Derek meets his Z-list celeb chums for a coffee, he should bring a tape recorder along with him, record the conversation and play it the next day at 3pm. It couldn't be any worse than today's show.

Greatest pile of dung I ever heard.

Seriously, there should be an inquiry into this.

Even at the end the 'hosts' bleating to be allowed to the wedding!!

These people should be culled, unbelievable.

That big loudmouth overfed buffoon on again. My God.
Heard the ad at lunchtime that he was going to be on.
Didn't tune in today at all. Don't think I ever will again.
It used to be so bad that it was good. It's 10 times worse now.
This has to stop. How can RTE let this go on.
Derek's self indulgent hour and a half.

Sausagefest, Jedward, Louise Walsh, Titanic, Blue Tits, Mayerdy Button, more sausages.

    Awful, awful radio.

You say that like she climbed Everest or swam the Amazon.

Its actually a lot simpler than you think, you eat less, exercise more and you will lose weight.

I don't think you should qualify to be on the Late Late Show, and RTE radio with your singing child just because you showed a little willpower and lost weight. Is that want constitutes a major achievement in our underachieving world?

It has nothing to do with any of that!

Did nobody else hear her mention that Noel Kelly ( I think that's he's name) was her agent. The same agent that manages the majority of RTE presenters!

Jeez I thought it was just me but I just happened to hear that Fitzpatrick wan going on and thought what a pain in the........When she said her dream was to be on the late late? Now after she said that, I thought you are a SAD SAD woman.

She doesnt like shopping in supermarkets either (she is not alone there) but could she not shop online? or is that too common for her? She struck me as a yuppie mummy to me.You would think she is the only person in Ireland to lose weight.

Not a very likeable person to me anyway.

So there's a seagull sitting on top of a building in RTE.
Mooney gets all the experts and technical guys to put live cameras pointing at it.
And now we'll be hearing about it until it flies away...!
    Wot a waste of money:(

They were kamikaze blue tits. They couldn't cope with the celebrity spotlight.

ive never listened to mooney, my little ears have had enough of rte taking the mickey by 3 oclock. i know the guy is obsessed with tits and eurovsion but hearing the promo today the show really seems to be scrapping the bottom of the desperation barrell. A woman who hasnt taken her xmas tree down in 20 years. WTF is that all about? The shows not humourous or informative. Our license money is going to pay for some pansy ass rubbish to help fill slots between news broadcasts at 145 and 430. Surely with all the "Professional" producers & Staff in RTE they could come up with a decent show that informs people.

    0905-1000 for starters

    1200-1300 for seconders

    Sat 1000-1100 for thirders

    1900-2000 debatable

    Will I go on?

Not a huge fan of Murray but he knows its light, he keeps it light, he doesn't talk down to his audience and neither do any of the stand-ins. Mooney on the other hand is all over the place, condescending - he has to have a go at the listener who complains about his tits and ignorant to anyone with a different view on all topics even the smallest of topics. His partners Brenda and the other girl (katherine?) have the worst most irritating voices for radio. And Mooney's Money :(

I used to hate Ronan Collins but actually he has grown on me and I kind of understand the show now, it possibly not my taste in music.

I haven't listen to The Business since Murray left, he was better at that show tbh.

Arena is a fine arts show, and John Creedon hasn't got bad taste in music but sometimes not my cup of tea.

RTÉ Radio 1 is a mixed genre radio station. It isn't a news station or a music station. I don't necessarily see the problem with this type of schedule.
