This is no surprise, sure isn't their space program, stealth technology, jet technology ect, ect all down to those 'nice' Nazis they took back to America after WW2.

Coronado Island is lovely, been there a few times... going over the massive bridge into the clouds is deadly... also the aircraft carriers are an awesome sight

To be fair, the Russians also took their share of Nazis.... neither superpower would have reached space so quickly without them. This man was one of the best rocket scientists in America... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wernher_von_Braun also the brainchild of their massive Saturn rockets

Apparently it was a complete mistake :o
When builders of the Coronado Naval Amphibious Base in San Diego planned this complex in 1967, satellite imagery was probably the furthest thing from their minds. But in 2007, Google Earth sleuths found that four unconnected buildings on the base formed an unfortunate shape when viewed from above: a swastika. The Navy says it's spending more than $600,000 to mask the shape. "We don't want to be associated with something as symbolic and hateful as a swastika," a spokesman said

There are some other pretty good google earth finds in that article as well.

"We don't want to be associated with something as symbolic and hateful as a swastika,"

    I read that as:
"We're too stupid to put up with an unfortunate mistake, and instead will spend loads of money changing the building"

    I also read it as:
"Hurrrrr we don't know what a swastika REALLY is hurrrr"

However, it is tilted 45 degrees :pac:

Hmmm... it's an amusing curiousity - hardly worth spending $600,000 on fixing! I'd say there's a few brown envelopes sneaking their way around...

ffs.. why would they be worried enough about it to spend over half a million dollars hiding it?

Sure the Swastika is a symbol of peace..

    oh wait
