    hi i was wonder if anyone knows where i could get a small lake boat for my son and i.im out of work at the moment and dont have much money .all i have is alot of time.if anyone has one thats lying around,i promise to take care of it and give it a good home.and bring it back to it former glory

    Here is a little boat that might do. You could also look around some sailing clubs and boat yards they might have something but remember sometimes the cheapest boat will cost you the most in the end.:)

    If you do have a bit of time on your hands would you think about building one, some of these are very easy to build and can be the same cost as restoring one it's also a great way to spend a bit of time with your son and teaches him a bit about boats.

    cheers fergal thanks for the info.trouble is dont have a spare €300.hoping to spend alot of time on the right boat and spend money little by little.going to check out clubs and yards over easter break.

    If you have more time than money, I'd second fergal's suggestion of building a boat. You can spread the cost, and it's a fun project in its own right.

    A shortage of (mostly) time and (to a lesser extent) money is slowing down my boat-building project, but I got a boost when the sails arrived last week, so hopefully it will get a kickstart now and be in the water soon.
