    Hi All,

Tomorrow I'll be travelling on a plane with my EpiPen for the first time. I'm just wondering has anyone ever come across any problems doing so? I have a letter from my Specialist explaining why I have it etc. Just hoping there'll be no problems as long as I have the letter?

Our son has one for his Peanut allergy and we have never had a problem with travel, as long as you have a Doctors letter or similar you should be fine.

    Hi,

We have travelled with our daughter on planes without any problem with her Anapens ( same as Epipen) We too have a letter from GP and present it to the check-in desk and security at the scanning desk.

It is better if you you have it in a seperate container/pouch so that it can be inspected without the need to have to find it in your carry on bag.

    Safe travelling

    Aidan

you'll be fine - I'm never asked about my diabetic pens, and the staff all know what they are anyway.

I wouldnt be so sure about that. I have MS and medication in via injection, only small needles like the diabetic ones but even with letters and explanation they had no clue what my medication was for!

Made me open up the sterile packed boxes and everything!

You think they would be trained in the common needle medication they might come across but....

You'll be fine going through airports.

I just leave my stuff in my bag without taking it out and they never question it. If they do a search of my bag due to other reasons, like too many electronics for them to be able to figure out what is what, then I just tell them that there are sharps in there before they go rummaging. But I have never had reason to tell them before hand and they have never queried what is what when they do find them, it's always something else that tey are interested in in my bags.

Well except for the daft trainee security in Geneva one time who was about to throw the pens into the bin before his supervisor came over wondering what the hold up was and just sent me on my way.
