Does anyone know if it's possible to fit and wirelessly link window & door contacts to an existing wired PIR burglar alarm system?

If so, how much would it cost?

    Thanks in advance.

You could fit a wireless link to the pir and power the wireless bridge to the pir power and have a wireless battery run sensor. I'm not sure how much a wireless bridge is but it is not cheap when you need a contact aswell. What's. The make of your panel?

There are a number of different wireless bridges around.
    Have a look here

If you have free zones on the panel then a quick bridge will work with most panels. What system have you installed that you want to add other devices ?

Thanks for the replies. It's a Aritech CS250 , seven PIR zones and a key fob.

If you have wireless on the panel already you can add capacity for upto 16 wireless devices.

Thanks. Would they need a power supply and how much would they cost each?

Have you wireless already on the panel?
If so is it an 8 or 16 ch receiver?
if its 16 the capacity is already there & you can add extra devices most are around €50
If its an 8 channel you can add another receiver for about €90
The receivers are powered from the panel , no PSU needed.

There is a wireless fob if that's what you mean

If so is it an 8 or 16 ch receiver?

How would I find this out?

if its 16 the capacity is already there & you can add extra devices most are around €50

IS that €50 each so 16 would cost €800?

If its an 8 channel you can add another receiver for about €90

The receivers are powered from the panel , no PSU needed.

So would there just be a small two-piece contact on the door or window?

See if there is a model number on the receiver in the panel

    Roughly, yes

Correct. Wireless devices are battery powered.

You will need the engineer code off the alarm to add the devices to the alarm. The devices you need use the 433 frequency. A lot of different devices use this frequency that can cause problems. If money is not an issue you should think about upgrading the control panel to a different hybrid system using the 868 frequency.
