Are the rings not signature rings and teh scopes Fullfield etc?

They will do the job lamping.

a 2.5-10x50 is a great stalking scope, better without a lamp if that makes sense
For using in very low light.

My pet hate is the reticles are very heavy as a result and blocks out a lot of the target.

I had a Nikon 2.5-10x56 and it was the clearest scope at low light i ever used.
Burris are quite good Quality, I think Nikon are slightly better in the same price bracket more or less.

The very low mag scopes are more at home stalking than lamping.
IMvHO the 4-16 or what I love myself the 5.5-22 are an ideal mag range for lamping. Low enough to be clear, but high enough to get a shot off on a fox at 100-200 yards at night.

A lot of lads buy the 2.5-10 and end up craving more mag later on (myself included)

In real terms very little lamping in the summer months, so is 10x enough for you?

Burris do a Signature Select line which would be a higher class than the Fullfields, but looking at the website, there isn't a 2.5-10. Closest would be 3-10x40?

    OP
Perhaps you meant Bushnell? I often mix the two
    names up

I'd still prefer a Nikon if I were you

Side Parallax is way easier use than on the bell of the scope
