Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,
Having done the west coast of France for the last 2 years, I was thinking of heading for Italy this summer. Info for sites (child friendly) seems harder to come by. Any one any links, suggestions or advise?
    Thanks in advance.

I can't offer any info in Italy but not en-route in Germany is http://www.gitzenweiler-hof.de/en/home-page.html next to Lake Constance where we spend a while. Excellent scenery, a beautiful Lake and great facilities. It gets a bit busy in peak season. Well worth checking out.

In July and August Italian sites are very crowded, every Italian seems to have a motor caravan, be prepared for close (very) parking on sites.

Italians love their children who are allowed a lot of freedom and they seldom bother to meet face to face for conversation but prefer to shout over great distances, that's the adults and the children.

However Italians are really hospitable and nice people generally so if the fast pace, crowdedness and noise don't bother you it's a great place to visit.

Oh and BTW, their roads are probably more broken up and potholed than ours.

We spent about a month there last summer, early August to early September, and overall found it a really enjoyable experience, except for the roads which at times required our speed to be reduced below 40KmPH and Italians seem to have torn up the 'Rules of The Road' book long ago.

Ok, thanks for those replies. Sounds like it is quiet a different camping experience to the Fench one.
