I don't know if we should simply ban these types of threads completely due to some long established members and active posters have genuinely helped each other out with codes over the last few years.

However, there's been a few of these threads established by new members purely to beg for free codes. I'm not sure how the community feels about this but I think that's kinda taking the piss.

I'm interested to hear what our more active posters feel about these types of threads. Let you opinions be heard, I'm all ears.

I think it feels and sounds like begging to me. Maybe there should be a minimum post count before you can ask?

Agreed on the begging point.

Seems to be a lot of first time posters coming on just to cadge a few codes. Case in point the guy looking for free MSP in the last few weeks.

+1 on a minimum post count before putting the hand out.

Ok, FutureGuy has come up with a solution to this issue.

An official thread is going to be made for members to share codes on.

All posts/threads that appear outside of that thread asking for free codes will be deleted immediately.

Any member who asks for a free code must have a 50 post count minimum otherwise it'll be deleted. They had better be genuine posts too... I'll be checking

I think this is a pretty good solution to the begging of free codes.

whats 1.99 a month? surely you have that amount you can use ?

I got 2 months for 2 euro the last time i'm finished next week have to spend 60 euro for the yearly one.

check online you can get it for 35e hell i bought mine in hmv last year for 45.

Don't think it's always 60euro.

And no they won't they are providing a great service that I'm happy to pay for.

Seriously, XBL will never be free. Nor should it be. They offer a policed service and for that you will always pay. It's only a matter of time before PSN will have to start charging because the quality of their service has become so bad compared with XBL.

I don't want to start a flame war here but how many days has XBL been down this year? And how many has PSN been down? I rest my case, your honour!
