whats wrong with it , it never seems to be working only when i first got it. servers seem to be down all the time now. Has anyone any update on this ? Thanks

Working fine for me mate, just keep an eye on the top left hand corner after you pick a playlist, should only take a minute or two to find a match let it do it's work. Although I've my region on the dashboard set to UK, helped with Gears matchmaking.
