There is a green area between Clonmel oil driveway and the Circle K so they could tarmac that and put in some truck parking. Much safer than on the road and running between the cars

Any recommendations for a decent restaurant that isn't Indian or Chinese food? Looking for somewhere nice that does contemporary food but not too poncy. Special occasion so budget isn't an issue. Please don't recommend Clonmel Park hotel!! ðŸ˜

    Thanks in advance

Raheen House is perfect for small gatherings where you also would enjoy the feeling that it's a little more special than just a restaurant.

Did anyone hear about the house that was burned down near the Fethard Road roundabout?

Is this what you mean? http://tippfm.com/news/crime-legal/clonmel-house-vandals-may-sustained-injuries/

“Gardaí in Clonmel are appealing for witnesses to the vandalism of a council house.

The house, just off the N24, had been refurbished and was due to be handed back to the council on Wednesday.

Sometime between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning a number of windows were forced out, and there was extensive internal damage done to the property in question at Northfields, between the Fethard Road roundabout and the Tesco roundabout.

It’s understood that the house had been earmarked as traveller accommodation.

Due to the nature of the housing, there was speculation surrounding the motivation for the vandalism.”

The way traveller accommodation is being forced on people who have brought houses in private estates is an absolute disgrace. There has been zero consultation with affected people.

yes that's the house I was talking about. One family of travellers not happy another family getting the house (they had put in stables and room for the ponies) so burnt them out - place was ready to be handed over to the family and now absolutely destroyed - kitchen, pipes, walls damaged.

Scum. They should stop providing "specialist" accommodation and everyone just goes on the same housing list - do you think the co council would provide me with "just so" housing if I went down there and asked for it!

So they've refused housing in Thurles - that still stands vacant and now they've burnt and destroyed another house - let them go homeless.

Work seems to have stalled on the steelframe houses at the station.
Anyone know what the story is?

Another unit on Gladstone street closed up Friday I believe, small businesses finding it very tough. Clonmel will miss them when all gone.

Clonmel used be a lovely town to walk around at lunchtime. It’s awful now between empty shops and beggars.

Wow, I'm surprised at that. They were always busy when I went buy. Did the owner retire?

It's absolutely eerie walking through market place these days, feels like being on the set of a zombie apocalypse film.

Surprised to hear it as well.
I don't think the current owner is at retirement age.

There was a planning application for a subway type restaurant, supersubs I think it was. That was a while ago though, never heard anymore about it.
