Have all stopped working for me  I use Eircom wireless and the sites do not connect either while using my mobile on WI-FI

Has the router or Eircom blocked just the BBC

Working fine here on UPC, but you're not the first to report this:

Move to the eircom forum. The reps here might know of a reason for this. DNS or routing issue perhaps.

I have been checking this out myself.

    Reseting the modem, no change
Trying to access bbc.co.uk via ip , no change
    Can access every other site
    Can ping bbc.co.uk
    No security software installed.
Tried a fresh install of Xp and 7, no change
Tried over cable and wireless, no change.

    Hi Antrim_Man,

Thanks for contacting eircom on Boards.ie

I've contacted Technical Support and can confirm that there are no reported issues with access to the bbc.co.uk website.

I have just tested the site and am able to ping from my own eircom network.

As mentioned before on our eircom Forum, if you have are experiencing problems, please confirm if this is happening with any other website.

In the mean time, if you need to use this website, just use eircom's new DNS servers :

    Primary DNS - 213.94.190.194
    Secondary DNS - 213.94.190.236

eircom Technical Support are monitoring this though they are not reporting any faults with this website from their network. If you wish to call into Technical Support directly to check for updates, or any other issue :

    Broadband Support : 1890 260260 (lowcall); hrs : 08:00 - 22:00 (Mon - Sun).

    Kind regards,

    Ant

Hi Guys....Antrim_Man / and Others having the same problem

Can I ask you all a favour..

Can you do a traceroute to the bbc site, using current settings. Also with our default dns settings, so we can compare a working and non-working one and see where the problem occurs.

And also if there are any other sites affected. If we could get a list of those and if possible traceroutes too.

    Appreciate all your help here.

    Hi Antrim_Man,

Thanks for getting back to me and apologies for the delay responding.

I'd like to advise first that it would be imperative when connecting with eircom Broadband that you would use eircom's DNS servers.
This is because we can ensure you connect to websites faster and more efficiently..
Also if there is any problem we can always rectify this quicky.

At the moment, there are a few customers having problems accessing the bbc website. It would appear to be just this site, and not affecting everyone. I've been advised that our networks are in contact with the bbc website and they would hope to have it resolved shortly.

Let me know if you are still unable to access the website on Monday or Tuesday.

    Kind regards,
    Ant
