    If you've got a USB memory stick or an external USB hard drive you can use those too.

    I've the slim version now so the cable is no good to me anymore.

    Thanks a mil, amazon just told me it wont void the warranty if I take the HD out of my (two months) old one and put it into the new one, saves all the messing. They sent me a whole new console even though only the controller was faulty! :)

    just remember you need to migrate your licenses to your new console for any downloads you've done such as games etc to work offline.
