Stone Faced Wall?

Has anyone got one of these built? if so, how much did ihe whole project set you back, and will planning premission be needed as well?
The thing is, the poor old wall which was built when the family home was built is at its lifes end, and needs to be torn down, as its not looking too smart at the minute and my mum would fancy a change anyway, so she's keen on one of these stone faced walls.
I know next to nothing about this stuff, hence the thread, so thanks in advance lads and lasses for all the replies regards this!

Are you talking about stone cladding or actual cut stone built on an inner block leaf?

The stone cladding is supplied and fitted for something like 80 euro per sq meter,so its expensive and could be more than that
