Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Up at Bull Island you can see em. Bit distant, but if you get there at low tide you can wander over a bit and get something decent, with some nice foreground interest!

Head down the Bull Wall (South Wall, Shelly Banks whatever you want to call it) and looking back you can get shots like this, although depending on where you are, sometimes it appears as only one chimney.

is the bull wall not the one extending out from bull island with the statue of mary on the tripod at the end?

The south wall is often referred to as the south bull wall.

Loads of great places to get shots from, seeing as the chimneys are visable from a large area. But as Hugh says, the south wall is a nice location alright, although one stack is generally only what you can see from there -

a word of warning - i've heard reports of theft and attempted theft around the bull wall and south wall.

If you drive into the docks, there is a road that leads almost right up to the power station, and they will be very close to you. Crappy area around there though, all industrial and not a nice foreground. The road that leads up by the traveller camp brings you right up to the gate of the station and there is a place to park there too.

For a nicer location, Sandymount beach is lovely, and you can get some good shots with joggers in the foreground. There is also a park there as the road turns into the coast road with palm trees and a nice parkland setting for more nice foregrounds.

Sutton at sunset, that way you get Bull Island in the shot.

I've taken a few, but all from the northside. They were taken from Bull Island or clontarf promenade.

I stand corrected :) you're right. The one I mean is the one with the red lighthouse at the end.

Adrian.Sadlier, love your fourth shot, what's framing the towers in that?

Its the entrance to one of the Bathing shelters. If you walk accross the wooden bridge and go straight down towards the Star of the Sea statue it is on the right hand side, about 3/4 of a mile from the coast road.
