The ancient egyptians maybe? They were big into their cats. It was funny in Finland people used to bring their cats outside on a leash, the cats did not look amused.

I could see the twisted logic in killing the cat to make something out of its shiny coat, but how exactly do you use cat blood in a costume? If it's just a dye why not use something that won't smell so bad so quickly?

I much prefer animals to people, for those who don't understand this you just need to think of the people that piss you off on a daily basis, in public, on boards etc. I find it relaxing to be around animals and there is no bull**** with them. Anyway, on the cat topic, that woman must have been mentally ill but I still think she did an absolutely awful thing, animals are just as helpless and vulnerable as children.
