    Its free, just create a google analytics account, then register the url you want analyzed and they will give you a bit of code to put in your web pages before the </body> tag.

    Yes, it's free. Sign up to google.com/analytics and follow the steps. You'll be given some JavaScript code which you add to your pages, and that's pretty much it.

    <script type="text/javascript">

    var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl.&quot; : "http://www.");

    document.write(unescape("%3Cscript src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js' type='text/javascript'%3E%3C/script%3E"));

    </script>

    <script type="text/javascript">

    It can take a while for it to take effect. What's your website address?

    Take your time in getting to grips fully with GA as it can tell you what is working and (more importantly?) what is NOT working on your website(s).

    Friend of mine set this up for me on his computer. It works fine for him. I am able to sign in on my computer under my own email. It shows the websites name but for visitors and all that it shows zero. why is this anyone?

    Adblock plays havoc with GA I've found, so if you use it make sure it is off when checking your analytics. If you are persistently getting 0 hits well then it sounds like the analytics code wasn't installed correctly, or your friend may have added you to the wrong profile.
    In work atm so can't check but I think if you click on the first tab to manage the analytics property (when you have your sites analytics loaded) and under the code settings it should tell you whether the tracking code is installed correctly or not
