    Hi,

Just about to move into the above and we have 2cars and of course the 2 bed apartment comes with 1 space thanks to the greedy celtic tiger landscrounging developers.

Just wondering about clamping in this area? Found a lot of 2007 posts on neighbours.ie about clamping here, but is it still as bad?!?! What if i have visitors over - will they actually be clamped after 2 hours in the """"visitors"""" space?!?!

Anyone have any ideas or ways around this (if clamping is still as strict as it appears to have been back then?!)

    Cheers

Why on earth are you moving into a place with one space and two cars? You are walking into a problem straight away.

AFAIK it's an APCOA monitored development and if so they get paid minimum wage and get a percentage of each clamp fee. That means they can be clamp-happy.

Every 2 bed apt ive looked at comes with 1 parking space. Wat about leaving one of d cars on park avenue behind?

Any suggestions are hardly going to be a long term solution to this problem.

More likely to to with the planning guidelines for the area.

Is a house with parking that much more than an apt?

The issue I would imagine is finding a house in a non-managed development. In our development in Waterville none of the houses have driveways so we have 3 and 4 bedroomed properties with only one parking space. As someone else pointed out, it's all to do with the planning permission...so blame the council!
