leaving for sydney in a months time on a WHV!...

I'm getting mixed reports of sydney in terms of it being expensive for accomdation etc...

I wont have a huge amount of money when I arrive so need to get working in the first few weeks!

I have experience of labouring on construction sites at home and I hear the money isnt bad in Sydney!im willing to give it shot when we arrive because the weather will be a little cooler!

Is it hard to get labouring jobs in sydney?anyone know of the average earning for this kind of work?any info is much appreciated

after you do this, any more specific questions can be asked

Try platinum labour hire. Two Irish lads own it i think. Usually drink in cock and bull Saturday afternoons too. Just ask anyone in there. Can't remember their names at the minute.

You'll pick up work with a pipe laying crew handily enough. There are a handful of contractors in Sydney specialising in it (every one of them Irish owned and run), and EnergyAustralia have a massive capital works improvement programme in place at the minute, so plenty of work coming up in that line over the coming years.

Few contractors to try in this line:

    Diona,
    Codmah,
    Murphy, McCarthy & Associates (MMA),
    Killards,
    Garde.
