The Bus Eireann stop is outside Somers Service station(Texeco). Don't think there are other stops but not 100% sure. They may run from the train station. Here is a map.

There is a local company running a daily service to Galway.

They have a few stops around the town so may suit you better as you would have a choice of areas to choose to live.

    Train may also suit you.

In terms of areas to live, I grew up in the town but it has been a few years since I lived there. For the Bus Eireann bus, anywhere in the town or towards Prospect/GAA pitch would be within walking distance. Most of the estates would be a bit out of the way as most are the opposite side of town.

For Farrells bus they have a stop at Londis (Tuam RD) so out the Tuam road would best suit you. There are numerous estates that side of town. You need to make sure bus times and destinations suit your needs.

Lived down in the apartments near prospect/Joyces for 3 years - to be honest would recommend the train over the bus(CIE) unless you happen to be working in Ballybrit/Parkmore - have only used Farrells nightlink service so could not really comment.

Hope you don't mind op but I have a request. Friend is looking for a four bed house close to Athenry, she's on rent allowance and is finding it hard to get a house that will take this payment.

Pm me if you can help.
