Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Nikon error

My girlfriend has a Nikon D50 and recently it broke...

The lens still autofocuses and the playback is fine but when you press the shutter release it makes a really loud and kinda slow noise but there is no image and the display on the top just says "err"

Anybody had this problem before? If so is it fixable? And if it is how much would you expect it to cost to get it fixed?

    Thanks in advance

Hi, Sounds like either a problem with the SQ motor gears (SQ motor controls the mirror) or the shutter side motor.
It is fixable and possibly without the need for parts but if you kept trying to cycle the shutter it may be damaged to the point where the motor/gear assembly would need replacement.

I repair cameras and lenses so if you are interested in repair PM me.
