Oh yeah the mandatory "I'm such a mad yoke I eat meat and drink alcohol on Good Friday" thread - was wondering when that would make an appearance.

Nothing rebellious about it whatsoever - and it's just embarrassing that anyone over 15 would feel there is...

This basically, if you're gonna eat meat then do, no need to make a song and dance about it.
I dont think it should be a day where drink cant be sold but it doesnt mean I go to the offie the night before and buy a slab of beer as a way of sticking it to the man, if it was a regular friday the same people who make such a big deal about drinking probably wouldnt have gone near a pub or opened a beer regardless, but once people are told they cant do something everyone feels they must. Its such a schoolchild mentality.

Nothing about rebellion - simply having the mind to do your own thing.

Not really. I can stomach vodka very well.

Maybe - but it would be nice to have more options.

But even that's no big deal any more - people go on about it here as if they're right anarchists. Why would you even think about it anymore, not to mind pat yourself on the back? I can't remember the last time I felt it was really "daring" of me to eat meat or drink alcohol on Good Friday (although I don't think the sale of alcohol should be prohibited).

But it's inevitably getting "I'm such a rebel because I'm eating meat" posts.
    If you don't like ah
I fail to see where I said that?

You don't want to be the black sheep, so you'll just be a regular sheep.

Morgans rum with orange cordial. It tastesike a super split!

Anyway, everyday is a meal day.. but I might have calamari today. Not sure what that counts as, as it's not really fish but not exactly regular meat either.

Rules were made to be broken..

    It's confusing.

I was all set to do that zany thing of eating 6 or 7 quarter pounders and swapping over to bacon crisps for the day (and boasting about it online) to cock a snook at the bishops but then I thought that maybe actually ironically abstaining from the protest of eating meat would be even more daring and individual.

I don't fly with the flock, me.

Don't care about it in our house, I think mum just bought some ham for lunch

If those catholics were so obsessed with their rules, why not ban sale of meat as well as drink

Going for the same today, have calamari, king prawns & salmon out, salad on the side and brown soda bread. Should be a nice meal to come home to after being out in the sun all day.
