C+C My Horseys? (6 pics)

Hey all,

Came across a few horses today and grabbed a few shots. A friend had been talking about visiting them, so we went out today.

Just thought I'd throw them in here and see if anyone had any ideas, suggestions, comments, critiques, feedback, reviews, opinions, conclusions, impressions, judgments, reactions, sentiments, viewpoints or any other such thoughts to share on them? :pac:


Never photographed horses before, and never really been around horses, so I wasn't really sure what to look for or how to act around them. They seemed friendly enough, though quite curious. I don't think they get many visitors

I really like 3 and 4 (3 being my favourite, actually like this one a lot). I can also see what you were going for with 2, but I think it's ruined by the pile of muck/poo and the building in the background. Would've went with a much shallower depth of field with that one, get the sun between you and the horse for some nice backlighting on the mane and get a nice low angle maybe?

The rest don't really do anything for me at all to be honest. There's just no interesting viewpoint in them. You're good ones (in my opinion of course ) appear to be taken at an unusal angle etc... rather than just eye level.

I'm going to make it a point to visit them again at some point in the near future, and try get some more shots of them. See if I can learn anything.

There are bulls (apparently... i think they're just cows, but I've been told bulls. Not that it matters) across the road from them, too. Might give them a shot, aswell.

I really like 3 too and 6 is interesting with the whole wind swept mane going on.

Cakes.

I like number 3. It gives you a feel of how powerful and large horses are.

I find that there are too many and too samey, the lack of some nice effect PP such as BW or faded or whatever also I miss when I see so many shots the same way.
#2 with the excess flare is the only one that is different, I think that's pretty good too.
The Horse to the left in #3 greatly adds to that particular picture.

1,3 and 6 are quite nice, these Horses have lots of character
