Away for a few days and also have the human flu. Wandered up to 80 on the snatch, tried to do 35kg+40kg chains with hillarious consequences.
Started back squats, knee told me "if you do this, I'll break and you'll be sore". Bastard.

Back in the gymnasium. Just did 5x5 fronts at 70, db bench with 15s and clean deads at 120. Feels bad man!

I've turned into a professional housemover/cleaner/painter for about a week. Move should be finished soon. I might get to train this year. My beard is magnificient. I saw a hobo the other day with a tidier one. He'd better shoes too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,234 ✭✭✭Edwardius

I actually trained today. Just wandered up to 65 for a triple on the snatch, 100x3 on the back squat and a bunch of Klokov presses with just the bar to loosen things up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,234 ✭✭✭Edwardius

got my monthly training session in early today. Clean and jerk x3: 65-75-80-85. Erm, that's it! Had "the bad feeling" in a big way

    3x45

    Burden:
Smug: 1130kg (countin from 60kg up)
    Strengpf: 2675kg
    Total: 3805kg

Work capacity is a lot better. Had a few misses on the snatch, wandered around like a hobo, got some coffee and came back to them. Squats were easy. I had my technique torn to bits at the level one the other day, well it's stuff that I was kind of aware of but getting another perspective on it is always good, hence the first pulls. Gonna train again this week and do the inters on saturday. I'm gonna be totally ****ing average!

    95x1
    95x2

Gonna try to just have fun on saturday, no pressure (sure sure, I believe you).

Lifted at the inters yesterday. Snatch warmup was abysmal, missed 60 behind three times in a row, kept missing 79 too. Opened with 82, nailed it (cue much relief), Woman called 85, lost behind but made it on the 3rd though. Clean and jerk warmup was pretty good, opened at 96kg and it was fairly solid, called 100 then and made a meal of the clean and missed the jerk, missed the clean on the last attempt.
finished with 85/96, got bronze because another dude bombed out. Was treating it as a training comp but it was still feckin stressful.

Fair fecks to "The Banshee" for qualifying for the Euros. He lifted like a demon.

Great session, felt like at least a fistful of dollars once I got some rage going. Rest periods got shorter as I moved through it. I did eat a hape of cake earlier in the day though.

Gonna have to figure out some kneehab soon, lots of clicking.

Why are you recording tonnage Ed?

    Slowly slowly!

    Scuba Ste wrote: »

I just want to track it so that I can make sure it's increasing over the next while. I don't really do a lot compared to a "general" trainee, and seem to make less progress, so I'm hoping that slowly increasing overall volume leads to some gainnnzzzzz.
Also, I was thinking of doing a general preparation phase at some point and if I have an idea of the tonnage I was lifting prior, I won't do something retarded like quadruple it immediately when I add a load of exercises and wonder why I can't get up in the morning!
In reality, I'm probably not good enough to need to bother tracking these things but it might be interesting.

It'll be interesting to see how you get on with it. Are you only counting certain percentages like 70+ or 80+ or counting everything you do?

I'm only counting about 75% and up, I can't really call anything below that work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,234 ✭✭✭Edwardius

    Snatch:
    2x65
    1x70
    1x75
    80x5x2
    **** it
80x3 (think this equals a pb of some sort)

    1315kg total

    1 power clean +3fs 80kg
    1 power clean +5fs 85kgx5 sets, (Didn't bother with a rack)
    2365kg + 510kg

    Smug: 1825kg
    Strempf: 2365kg

    Total: 4190kg

I was tired after that. I had planned on buggering off for 20mins for a snooze and coming back to do singles until I ended up in a wheelchair but felt kinda drained. It'll be difficult to add weight next week because 80x3 was a kind of short term goal but I'll try to crack 82kg next week. Squats were a lot more difficult after power cleaning them up. zzz

Snatch 12 singles at 70kg (one on the minute for 12 minutes). Snatch on bosu ball :p

    840kg total

Wasn't in good form for this session, was tired and dizzy.

    Clean and jerk
    80x2
    85x1
    90x6x2
went for a seventh set, second jerk was out front so I began walking, ended up off the platform but had nowhere to drop the bar because the other platform had a bar on it that I didn't want to break, so ended up walking over the end of the platform. Eventually the thing ended up in a plate rack. Gymfreak had fortunately vacated the platform at the time! There was one witness. Silly Ed.
    1415kg

    Front
    80x3,
    90x3
    95x3
    98x3
    100x3

    1386kg

Last rep was ugly as sin. Mao was spinning in his grave!

    Smugness:1415kg
    Strongness: 1386kg

    total: 2801kg

Forgot trap bar deads. Durn. My jerk is still crap.

    2222.5

    Total: 3337.5kg
