Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

On the drive west crossborder from Belfast I noticed great swathes of Cuckoospit or Ladysmock pinks along the road edges and rough grazing, yellowbrick road edges of dandelions and gardens bordered by burnt conifers from the winter's extreme cold. Gorse/whin around Omagh showed lots of signs of winter damage and I think that gorse in general is not as vibrant in colour as usual.

As we drove along orange tip butterflies rose at regular intervals from the Ladysmock.

It also looks like a good year for the primroses, a couple of specatacular carpets of them in the dunes at Rosbeg. We found the first patch of purple orchids yesterday, early marsh or early purple, must check that out.

Also, an emergence of black dangly legged flies. Do St Marks Flies occur in Ireland?

Probably Early Purple, the Marsh-orchids usually start flowering a bit later

and last night we saw one of the half-white hares. What is the latest theory about this year's arctic hare emergence? At least it proves that the local hares are real Irish hares.
