Got down to The Well for a few halves at the Easterfest yesterday.

Highlights for me included (in no particular order)

    Metalman Windjammer on cask
Galaxy on draught (twas a bit flat in a good way-cask like)
    Dark Arts cask
    Barrelhead cask (aged, I believe)
Messers Maguire dark ale on draught.

    all seriously good beers.

I did think there were a lot of 'me too' pale ales knocking around.
Didn't get around to any of the smoked beers.

Barrelhead was the soar away winner for me. Really liked the Windjammer too. The UCC wheat beer was pretty good, as was the O'Hara's smoked ale, though it could definitely have done with more smoke.

Agree with you on the me-too pale ales, but I still thought Eight Degrees showed a lot of promise: a lighter hand on the filter than a lot of the others.

That was the first beer I had and I liked it but I pretty much forgot about it as soon I went on to Windjammer. But, yes, a very promising first brew.

Is Dark Arts available in bottles?

I had it in The Porterhouse during their Beer & Whiskey promotion recently and loved it.

No. I don't know if they've any plans to bottle at all.

Is it still on tap in L Mulligan Grocers?

I'm going for a few beers later, I'm not too far from there and have yet to venture in.

Not sure. It's not on their website, but that could be out of date.

I think the website is out of date alright, the events section is a bit historical

Guys, I'm in Galway with the Mrs at the weekend and am going to accidentally stumble across Brewers at the Bay festival on the Sunday. I'm looking at three pints max. What should I get?

If you insist on pints, Windjammer, Howling Gale, Dungarvan Coffee & Oatmeal. But drink halves and add Galaxy, MM Brown and O'Hara's Smoked to that.

is the new brewery actually built? Where is it?

The brewery is still a work in progress, we hope to confirm the location in the next few weeks, pending the remaining paperwork etc. For now, we're brewing at the White Gypsy brewery in Templemore. No bottles yet I'm afraid, we intend to start bottling once our own brewery is up and running, we're thinking September time-frame, if all goes according to plan.

    Glad you enjoyed the beer!
