There's a million things you could say about that first interview. Believe me your perspective would have changed with each subsequent ebb and flow in her career/life. The second interview is far more straightforward and SO optimistic rather than dancing around things or being unsure about everything in the first interview. Her WWE tryout was 3 weeks away and she was going to nail it and the WWE were more than open to hiring her so she was buzzing.

She's a very smart woman who makes such an impression on people she could get a job doing anything but ultimately parking all corniness asida she was put on Earth to be Wrestler.

I'm kind of looking forward to just how backwards sounding himself and Bill Watts will sound together.

Looking forward to the Meltzer one. Brian Shields' interview on Live Audio Wrestling a while back was pretty good.

Jesse Ventura sounds good. Running out of podcasts to listen to lately.

*Five mins in and he's taking on Sarah Palin and Bill O'Reilly. This is gold.

I'd really like the place to be podcasts if they hadn't that Vince McMahon parody thing on most of them, it's extremely out of place and breaks the flow up hugely to the point I won't listen to episodes.

Haven't had much time for him much the past few years but the Steve Austin podcasts with Mick Foley are very good.

    Yup.

The Austin & Foley podcasts are particularly outstanding. Have really complicated feelings towards Foley. At one stage far and away my favourite Wrestler but that changed after Hardcore Diaries and surrounding/subsequent events but ultimately he has immense positives. This was one of his showings than made me feel guilty about having "animosity" towards him.

I recall that one being pretty sour and dour. What did you have against it?

Alvarez actually plays the audio from Danielson and Meltzer's New Japan G-1 conversation on today's Wrestling Observer Radio from the WWE 2K15 red carpet media deal.

Bryan's enthusiasm for the New Japan is really, really clear. To the degree it would naturally bothersome at a WWE PR event. It did cause a stink seemingly with Meltzer and WWE.

Just Meltzer and Daniel Bryan dorking out about New Japan:
Daniel Bryan saying Shinsuke Nakamura is the best Wrestler in the World and how Bray Wyatt is a huge Nakamura fan.
Cesaro being the main person who watched all of it.
Daniel Bryan said a match that went unfilmed between him and Minoru Suzuki was one of the best of his career.
Loads more too about Nagata, Ishii and the lads.

Danielson and Nakamura did train together at the New Japan Dojo:

Do any of you guys know David Coffey?

A non-Wrestling podcast I listen to is Jarlath Regan's An Irishman Abroad - a podcast that interviews ex-pat actors, musicians, writers, sportspeople etc. His list of guests is pretty impressive and the momentum was building.

    http://anirishmanabroad.podbean.com/

David Coffey was behind RTE's Dan & Becs and Sarah & Steve respectively:
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMBo2_ldoo6zw7Lvg0_VBFQ

As well as the seminal Fade Street.

Anyway he is a HUGE Wrestling fan too. Worked for The Wrestling Channel and one of his credits was:
Collaborated with "Entourage" producer, Doug Ellin, on the development of a comedy pilot about Professional Wrestling for HBO Television.

Michael Keaton was going to be the Vince McMahon in it!

Just listened to Attitude Era podcast's review of WCW Starrcade 1997 and found it funny.

The new Voices of Wrestling podcast is out:

Changing gears then to AAA TripleMania, DDT’s Peter Pan 2014 show, Dragon Gate “Dangerous Gate” as well as your questions and more!

    Time marks:
    Intro 0:00-2:35
    SummerSlam/Brock vs. Cena 2:35-24:41
    WWE Raw/WWE Booking 24:41-55:35
    AAA TripleMania 55:35-1:01:35
    DDT “Peter Pan” 2014 1:01:35-1:20:05
    Dragon Gate “Dangerous Gate” 1:20:05-1:39:29
    PWS, News/Notes, Your Questions 1:39:29-2:57:00

    http://www.voicesofwrestling.com/2014/08/26/brockcena-aaa-triplemania-wwe-booking-more/

Probably my absolute favourite podcast the moment. Serious business analysis wise but equally fun and has a bounce to it.

Jericho's got Triple H coming up. Didn't Austin say he was going to record with Hunter? Would have much preferred Austin to Jericho.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,860 ✭✭✭Ape Lincoln

Austin has said he will have Triple H, Undertaker and will try to get Vince on but he wants to do these important ones in person as the quality of the conversation is better than over the phone.

  • Registered Users Posts: 732 ✭✭✭Reebrock

Makes sense. I just really hope it happens.

I enjoy listening to Attitude Era podcast. I usually mute the audio of PPV and listen to them while watching the PPV.

    This is will be intriguing:

WWE executive Paul Levesque (a/k/a Triple H) will appear on Chris Jericho's "Talk Is Jericho" podcast this week. Jericho noted on Twitter that the podcasts will drop on Wednesday and Friday at Podcastone.com/Talk-Is-Jericho.

Is there a better option in Android for downloading the PodcastOne podcasts other than visiting their site?

Edit: their Android app is not available in Ireland.

Reviewing all 30 Wrestlemanias leading up to #31 is a good idea and this is a good podcast Meltzer's input is cool but damn, it's 4hrs long and by the second hour they are only just on the second match.
