Hi there. My friend and I will be travelling around Ireland for a few weeks at the end of this year and we're interested in locals' perspectives about what to see, where to go and what to do in Dublin! All advice greatly appreciated!

    ..and off the beaten track
St. Valentines body (Whitefriar St. Church)

The Crusader (St. Michans Church - mummified bodies in crypt, he's the star)

The Casino at Marino (an archictectural gem, no need for cards, google it)

Take the Dart southside to Bray if the weather is good and observe the beaches, even get off at any point and enjoy them. Bono lives out there for a reason.

    Overall, enjoy yourself.

There is a recent thread here

If you skip most of the nightclubs mentioned you'll be fine.

If you visit one pub make sure it's the bar in The Gravediggers in Glasnevin. It's one of the few real pubs left in Dublin.

    Enjoy your stay!

Thanks for your suggestions! In my experience if you just look at travel guides and the like, you quite often miss the best parts of places you visit, so I appreciate your input :)
