I will be looking for a nanny to care for three very small children, twins 1 year and a 2 year old, in our home. The nanny would be required to mind the children from 8 am to 4pm each day. Anyone any ideas on what rates a nanny would charge for this type of service?

Are you wanting a nanny (fully trained in childcare, early childhood development etc), or a childminder (a woman, usually who raised her own kids)? Rates will differ a lot.

A childminder in your own home will be at least minimum wage + prsi , a nanny will cot more as they are fully qualified childcare professionals about 10-12 euro an hour +prsi.

Thanks for your replies. I think a childminder would be sufficient, someone with experience with their own children. What kind of price would that come in at?

    Probably about 9euro an hour.
