Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

flashgun on the fritz

found a really old flash gun at home recently and loaded it up and it worked fine, I decided I would use it on the reg and picked up a set of AA rechargeables for it and they don't seem to work at all in it!

I have tried with ordinary Duracel batteries and they work ok (but not always)

its an analogue flash and I was just wondering would there be any easy way of fixing it? I think it might be a loose wire maybe!

    any thoughts?

As far as I remember, rechargeables have only 1.2 Volts, batteries have 1.5 volts. If the flash electronics were not made to charge from the lower voltage, you may be in trouble or in vicious circle of locating the cheapest batteries.

    I thought that might happen!

I'll pick up a pack of duracels tomorrow and see how it goes!

it could be an expensive one alright but to be fair id say I use the flash maybe 15% of the time I'm using my camera!
