Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Since sunday night I have been unable to get setanta sports Ireland in 4.3, my Sky epg pictures settings have no effect and since I do not have a widescreen tv the pictures are distorted, I have contacted both Setanta & Sky but have not been able to recieve a satisfactory explanation from them, note Setanta sports 1 is working as normal.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Stuck in 16:9 as well. Also noticed that all the interactive services are stuck in 16:9 as well, eg BBC Sport Multiscreen Sky Sports active etc

I have noticed that to be the case on my sky+hd box although on my sky+box interactive is still 4.3 however Setanta Ireland is available on 16.9 only on both boxes.

I have checked with my mother who has upc and it is 16.9 only.
when I phone Setanta they say it is sky/upc's fault yet when I phone sky/upc they say it is Setanta's fault..
the picture at the moment has a border down both sides of the screen.

    I don't have a widescreen tv?

Even if you don't have a widescreen tv it will help to set it to 16:9.

The majority of channels now broadcast in 16:9 as opposed to the 'old fashioned' 4:3. A few that still are in 4:3 have black borders on each side of the picture on screen. You sometimes see this effect when watching old broadcasts even on a widescreen tv.

Perhaps it's telling you to buy a new telly.:D

I don't have widescreen either but I watch everything I can in 16:9. You get a black border top and bottom but that's easily got used to.

Anytime a channel broadcasts (CBS Reality, Food Network etc.) in 4:3 it just looks weird. It only take one click on the remote to change to 4:3 but the pic looks too big.

I take your point, but why should Setanta Ireland & Setanta 1 be broadcasting differently & only since sunday?
