Go look at their info FB pages.

I have been saying this for years. The purpose of CIE unions is to DESTROY public transport in Ireland.

These "socialists" are poltically connected to the political, business and corpoate elite which has made Ireland an IMF tax farm. The heads of CIE unions were playing golf with the Anglo crowd.

This anti-MN thing is so well organised among the human waste which drives buses and trains in Ireland. This is not just a handful of headbangers in joe Duffy mode. These greasy lowlife "bruddahs" know excatly what they are doing.

CIE unions are part of the Irish corrupt establishment. WAKE THE HELL UP.

Their entire argument seems to stem from Paddy Murray (right name?) and a single Transport 21 Powerpoint slide:

    They're not worth the energy.

I was under the impression that the proprietor (or someone on their behalf) of a well known chain of awful tack tourist ware was responsible for that page. Certainly the photo on the home page is the same as the posters that were until recently displayed in the windows of one of the more prominent shops of said chain (and may, IIRC, still be displayed in the windows on the other side). Of course, there's no connection between one of the entrances to the O'Connell Bridge station being adjacent to the same prominent shop and their opposition to the project, no connection AT ALL.

Absolute rubbish. I'm not employed by CIE, never have been in a union nor want to be and I'm opposed to Metro North at this point in time.

I also think you are bang out of order to suggest that the many workers that work or any CIE company are "human waste". Their unions may be living in the past but they are hardly going to stop MN.

You also might need to get a dose of reality that a huge chunk of private sector construction and investment was financed by Anglo. If the heads of CIE unios were off playing golf with Anglo they weren't the only ones - and there was plenty queuing up for the opportunity. Ireland turned into aan "IMF tax farm" because we the people made it so - from the banks down to people who took out mortgages to pay mad money for property.

Anyway, Anglo were hardly reknown for the investment in public railways.

The anti-MN thing is so well organised because generally people have made their mind up based on the facts and realities of the proposal.

I wouldn't be worried by what a Facebook page says - whether it's a 'Yes' or 'No' one.

    Mod!
I'm locking this thread. In my opinion it breaks Rule 1 of the charter namely: Trolling, baiting and flaming

I can also imagine it will generate alot more heat then light

I also assume there are fora for those who wish to partake in "Conspiracy theories" I am afraid to say though that this forum isn't such a place.
