Same thing happened to myself. You can delete the app and indeed get another free pint but you're still limited to 1 a day, as your account has obviously registered that you've already got one on that day.

Slightly dissapointing but i guess it's still a free pint on any given day

They promised compatibility with Symbian in Mid June, but that was lies.

Which if you are running Symbian links you to the Ovi site, which then tells you that your phone is not supported. (mine is e71, so not actually a dinosaur)

Well seeing as there are Sales reps, Quality reps, Dispense reps and Service reps a better description than just Guinness Rep would be good.

Only 2 of the above would have to know about these promotions. Knowledge by the other 2 would depend on their engagement to the job, encouraged but not guarranteed

It was a Diageo rep who was strongly involved in overseeing this promotion in a particular region. So, not a pipe cleaner.

I got an email from bud ice today telling me not to worry about the rain and have a free pint on them. Checked the app.and there was another free pint voucher. Timed to perfection as ten of is from work were sheltering in a pub from the rain! Gracias. :-)

I know what I heard, I asked a Diageo rep (for this promo) a direct question, and they had no knowledge of the WM OS phones.

Keep an eye on the bonus tab section ( iphone ) . 2 free this week. Tuesday and yesterday. Apparently, with the downtime the app incurred, along with the bad press from users experiencing difficulties with same, they have not given out nearly as much as anticipated, so they are dropping in freebies on the bonus tab..... Is the e71 not 3 years old now? I agree it's not a dinosaur really, and it's a great phone, but the mobile world moves very quickly and they have accomodated most BB, iOS, Android and Symbian^3 when most companies don't give a crap about anything other than an iPhone.

Works perfectly on Symbian^3.

Yeah, I agree! So I got rid of the e71, bought an LG e900 running Windows Mobile 7, and guess what???? Diageo don't do apps for that. (BTW I didn't get the new phone so I could get free Bud)

Yesterday has to have been the hottest day of the year in Dublin anyway, as was saturday before it. The App on iPhone said it was 17°C.. Which is only €1 off..
But it doesn't rely on the iPhone app alone, so i went to the Bar and they said €2 off...

The uninstall/install ruse seems to have been picked up on. No longer does an new installation yield a bonus voucher. Practically makes it redundant now, considering the crafty methods they employ to 'record' the temperature - I can't justify even going with 2 euro off a pint.

I did receive some email indicating free pintage but nothing popped up in the app yielding same. It's a bit muddled overall, really. Most of the participating pubs know little of it too, the majority of the staff anyway.

To be fair, they've now started "Free Pint Fridays"!

The discount relies solely on what the app says, and Budweiser take the temperature at 12pm from Met Eireann. So far it's been very reliable.

I tried to use the app in a pub in Dun Laoghaire on Saturday evening (the pub was dead - about 10 people in it), to get one of the bonus pints.

The bar man wouldn't take it, said they didn't have a code for the bar so couldn't take it. This is despite the bar being in the pub locator and despite the bar having promotional materiel for the app on the bar!!

I was under the impression that the bar get a full refund from Budweiser for the retail price of the pint, so don't understand why there would be an issue.

Anyway, I walked out (as he was rude about the whole thing) and went somewhere else.

I emailed Budweiser about it, Their response seemed canned, and disinterested.

Here it is:

Thank you for your recent email. We always love to hear from our loyal consumers, their thoughts and comments as it brings us closer to the people that matter - you!

In response to your email, each individual participating outlet has a unique code that they give to their consumers upon seeing the free pint voucher on their handset. I am sorry to learn of your disappointment and any inconvenience you may have experienced in regards to availing of your free pint of Bud Ice. We taken relevant steps to ensure that bar staff in all participating outlets are aware of said promotion and we have sent out the relevant information packs for consultation when the staff are unsure on how to proceed.

Although we encourage all outlets to take part in our promotion, It is up to the individual outlet whether they would like participate or not. They would have agreed with their Diageo Representitive whether they were taking part or not before they would have been uploaded to the pub finder.

However I will forwarded your comments onto the relevant brand team and Sales Representitive to investigate as they rely on consumer feedback

I apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope that you continue to enjoy the Summer with Bud Ice.
