    Hi,

my in-laws are planning a trip to the UK in June. One of them wouldn't be in tip-top health and is worried about not being able to travel and subsequently losing monies spent on flight / accomodation. Just wondering if they weren't able to travel due to ill-health what documentary evidence do insurance companies require for a claim of this nature?? Also if one of them is ill do policies generally cover both insured persons??

    Cheers.

You best bet is just to contact their insurers and ask them about the specific policy concerned. Policies and companies vary. Why not ask them rather than throw it open to supposition here?

Also be sure they the insurer is aware of any pre-existing conditions. Many "off-the-shelf" travel policies will not cover something which is already a known issue.
