at a guess, lack of business/interest, i was down there a couple weeks back, not many stalls there. An indoor covered area clearly visible for all traders would be great, not many people even knew about the place. Id say for the moment, set up on red sq. is best for an outdoor market. if we had some sort of retractable roof over a section of red sq. that would be great

somethin like the milk market in limerick would be amazin and wouldnt take much more than a bit of land, a canopy(bit like the plaza) and a wall surrounding it
    the quay would be ideal

The individuals who took the time to take over the building and clean it up put in a lot of their own money to get it going with the promise of funding from the city council, enterprise board, etc that never came through.

It's appalling that rather than give them money to regenerate an empty building in the middle of the city with access from the quays so close to tall ships with plenty of traders interested in taking part it will now sit empty.

I don't believe there was lack of business to trade. We had growing interest in the market each week. However, when you dont' have the money to advertise or put up signs no one will know where you are and unfortunately the money ran out. Extremely disappointed.

This is exactly why I think it failed, if noone knows its there then noone will go there. Pity really, there was some really nice food and things down there.

It didn't really fail, it never got a real chance to fail.

If only money grew on trees...
