Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

I'm a bit out of the loop with how the ebook works exactly. If I bought an ebook online would I have instant access to it by simply downloading it? Also is it possible to read it on a Macbook or do I need some special kind of software to be able to do so?

    Thanks

It depends on the format of the eBook.

A lot of eBooks are .pdf Files which can be read with Adobe Reader which is common software with a lot of PCs & Laptops & Mac's
    (see link)

    Adobe for Macs

If you have a Kindle E-reader from Amazon they use MOBI Files which need different software than Adobe so don't going buying Kindle Books from Amazon unless you own a Kindle Reader.

You can download Kindle software onto Macs and PCs with which you can read *.mobi eBooks.

edit: DON'T download Adobe Reader for Mac! PDF support is built in.

If you were willing to first install some software, yes, you would then have access to it.

For example, if you bought an eBook from Amazon in *.mobi format, if you previously had "Kindle for PC" (free) installed - see here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html/ref=kcp_ipad_mkt_lnd?docId=1000425503 - then you would be able to open the said book on your computer system and read.
