Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello,

I have been given a Sky+HD box and its subscription is ending this week.

Can I, using the card it already has, look at any channels in Ireland once the sub runs out? At the moment I can look at whatever the current sub has on it and that can be seen in Ireland. The important ones are BBC1HD and BBCHD channels. Can I still watch these when the sub runs out? I dont know if that is free to air or freeview. Terminology in this is not my area.

Also, if I bring the box to Belfast can I look at basic freeview channels if there is already a sky dish in the apartment building? Could I get a basic SD subscription and when I get that card whack it into the HD+ box for recording?

    Thanks
    bbk

    Yes and Yes .
you will have to add the bbc hd and bbc1hd to other channels though as most of the hd boxes will not revert to the uk epg.

    Hello,

Thanks for that. I forgot to mention its a UK box and sky card. We can pick up those HD channels no bother so its good to know they will not disappear.

Formula 1 HD here I come!

The important thing i think with secondhand sky hd boxes is that you ensure that you get the correct pin number for the box.
Many boxes with a white card may still need the pin from the old blue card which many owners cant supply.
The hd box will ask for the pin number much more so than a standard sky box.
If using for the fta hd channels a uk card is better than a northern ireland card which will require itv hd to be added as other channels. (no pin, no good)
