Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I used to use this camera (ricoh film slr with 50mm 2.8 lens) before I got my 400D in 2007. It was the reason I bought a dslr in the first place because I liked the blur behind the subject :) My children allow me one day a year to take photos of them together like this so i took a bit of a risk pulling out the old camera and shoving in an out of date film into it. I scanned them with my super crappy scanner which probably didn't help the quality but I kind of like the charm of that at the same time. Don't know what the two blobs are in the bottom right

All of them are, of course, good.

Fave shot is number one. Two is a bit too posed/mirrored for my liking. 3 and 4 are perfectly charming if it was me I'd have tried shooting them on opposite sides too, so it doesn't look like one posed on the pillow after the other.

Great little models you have there. If I'm being a real pain the print one the girls t-shirt is off putting but thats really just me hyper nit picking so never mind me. Beautiful family shots.

I've a good few rolls of Tri-X to develop from ages ago; have even forgotten what's on half of them!

I really like the first shot, made me smile... Dunno what the two blobs are - bottom right of first and top right second

Nice photos, my only quibble is that in the second and third pics the lips are maybe too dark and exaggerate the kids mouths. Just my opinion.

I quite like them, they're nice without being too cheesy.

    What film did you use?

erm...200 or summat. can't remember but it had been in the camera bag since 2007 and it had been out for date then. The colours seemed to be missing reds from them. They were all a greeny turquoise colour.

    Beautiful :)

I'd love to see the originals though - these look a little photoshopped to my eye (the B&W conversions I mean - I had a feeling it wasn't b&w film..) Have you tried colour correcting using a levels layer? That'd probably sort the green cast for you:

Sick a levels layer on. In the RGB box go to red first, and slide the little arrows out until the left one is right at the edge of where the histogram starts, and the right one is right where it ends, and then make sure in the bar underneath that the left triangle is all the way to the left and the right triangle is all the way to the right. Like this:

Do that for the green and blue, and that should sort it. These are some I did that had the same problem..

Also, did you sharpen your shots a lot? I know I'm being picky, and they really are gorgeous, but if you're messing with film, it'd be nice to see them in all their out-of-date-colour-cast, slightly-soft goodness. Well, for me it would :)
