apparently was sitting in his studio one day, not able to pay bills, so decided to make a track that would make him loads of money. Made Kernkraft as a joke, and it got as big as it did. Then went back to making good music.

Zombie Nation was kicking around for 2 years before it was signed to ministry Blew up in Ibiza when Oakenfold started playing it.
It was part of the Gigolo/Munich.

God how do I even know this.

Deadmau5 is the definition of a sellout, he had a decent following and produced some decent tunes. Decided he'd rather chase the $ sign and started releasing song after song of cheesy Electro-House shíte because he knew it would sell on the "mainstream" market.

There's a difference in getting a promotion on merit and getting a promotion because you were a crowd pleaser.

Similar with his Dubstep stuff....all of a sudden Dubstep is huge and he starts making it and the most generic commercialised end of it as well, then again so did ****ing Photek.

And Skrillex blows too. Now we're back on topic.

In fairness you couldn't have a hairstyle like that without blowdrying...

I think that I should be glad I haven't heard of Photek, right?

Nah, in his day Photek did some truly astounding music...some of his DnB is top notch...I was genuinely excited when i heard Photek had a new release planned...until i heard said release.

Photek’s drum and bass from the mid nineties was absolutely amazing stuff altogether. The little bits of dubstep I've heard from him is heartbreakingly dire.

Cheers, will look at his DnB stuff.

jesus......I've said it all along.....dubstep should never have been allowed to get into the hands of Americans.

Nah, Coki started the big wobble movement, Caspa and Rusko killed it.

The American's have given us Starkey, FaltyDL, Serpulcure, Reso etc.:D

We should at least be able to do a Europe/USA transfer program...I'll happily trade Trolley Snatcha and Caspa for FaltyDL.

Skrillex is on a complete new level of ****e. No idea how so many people like him, all of his songs sound the same...

Just heard some of Photek's dubstep stuff, which some people call 'tronstep' it seems.

Talk about a fall from grace.

Caspa and the dub police crew are legit. The whole DP back catalogue and future tracks are extremely diverse and forward thinking.

Sounds like an electro-house track from Sebastian.

Sick of this "Your listening to the wrong sounds, you should be listening to THESE sounds" ****e. Artists majority of the time end up making what sells. I think Skrillex aint half bad but I can see why people think its repetitive

Is that kind of not the point of a music forum. Healthy debate and recommendation?

True but still. Everyone shouts sell out once an artist makes it big, kinda gets repetitive

I've never heard anyone call Skrillex a sellout...He never made good music.

Just youtube'd him earlier and listened to what he said, didn't read 'sell out' here, but he says he's been called it before.

But in general with music, sell out is shouted around alot

To be honest, I dont blame Skrillex, he just happened to be the biggest artist of the "new wave of shíte" dubstep, he wasn't the first to make dubstep like this, I just blame the recent dubstep bandwagon jumpers in the past few years who have morphed it into this load of garbage with drilling noises and screaming vocals.

    Digital Mystikz must be sick.

Thought I'd throw this in here, had never heard of Skrillex before Korn did this track with him. I only listen to a bit of electronic music, Pendulum, Boys Noize, Justice, Daft Punk etc.

As a Korn fan I really like this track

    No offence, but yeah.
