I'm looking to rent a flat for a month in Galway City. Does anyone know if there's a site that specialises in these short rentals? Thanks in advance.

There aren't many landlords who will take someone for a month.

A lot of tourist-orientated places (Galway!) will start to be busy from now on, but you might be able to get a deal if staying a month. the best deal you would get is if you aren't staying at the weekends.

Surely a good business opportunity here for some one..renting apartment for weekend is quite handy for a family .

I suppose I was thinking something along the lines of house swapping/couch surfing. Someone from Galway who'll be away for the month and wants their gaff minded + extra cash. Selfcatering tourist apartments start at €300 a week, which I suppose is reasonable enough and might be what I end up going for. However, the only ones I've found are quite far from the main drag in the city and I'd like to be close at hand to the town.

There is no "rent short term in Galway" website per se (afaik) but there are sites for renting that also has short term options.
www.donegancourt.com 5 mins walk from city
www.nilandhouseapartments.com 3 mins walk from city

The problem is no one in their right mind is going to get a stranger to 'mind' their apartment. Renting out a property is potentially a huge liability, hence the demand for a high premium on short-let places. Think of it as a risky investment, you require a lot of return to be worth the risk.

    300 a week for a short-let apartment doesn't seem to bad

    Hi there,

Did you find your short term apartment to rent yet? I have a place in Renmore that might be suitable if you are interested, 10 mins bus journey, you would walk in half an hour, if you havent been successful you can get back to me
